To kick off the BFCM holiday season, Away transformed their entire site to promote their luggage as the go-to gift for the holidays. Their homepage was adorned with festive decorations, enticing visuals, and headlines that evoke the holiday spirit, encouraging customers to explore the holiday-themed collections and special offers.

Away even has a holiday-themed animation applied to their logo when the user hovers: Upon hover, the logo animates snow falling in the logo’s box.

As a high-end luxury company, Away rarely discounts their products. During Black Friday Cyber Monday, they offered an exclusive 20% off sale for five days to drive sales. They promoted this across their social, email, and website to meet customers where they are. Away also offered discounts if customers purchased more than one piece of luggage to increase their AOV.

To keep things fresh and exciting, Away strategically re-merchandises their products for the holiday season. This includes promoting products in holiday-themed photography, emphasizing new arrivals, and pairing complementary items.

They also include badges on their product detail pages for their products that are ranked on Google’s Holiday 100 2023 Top Searched products.

Personalized gifts are a growing trend during the holiday season, and Away Travel taps into this by offering customization options for their products. Customers can monogram their luggage, pick unique color combinations, and even choose from a selection of accessories to tailor their purchase. The website's easy-to-use customization tools make this process seamless.

For those struggling to find the perfect gift for their loved ones, Away Travel provides a comprehensive gift guide as a dedicated page and navigation item on their site. This guide categorizes products by recipient, price range, and travel type, making it easy for customers to find thoughtful presents that suit their needs and budget. Components of the gift guide are also featured on the homepage.

To make gifting hassle-free, Away offers gift-messages and special gift boxes for those looking to give a suitcase as a gift. They offer an option within the checkout to choose if the luggage is a gift and provide a gift message. When we received our product the gift message was tucked away in a branded Away envelope with the message printed inside.
