Skincare with a Purpose: How Glow Recipe Boosts Conversion & AOV with their Mini-Cart
Biossance, one of the fastest growing brands at Sephora, is a clean beauty company that makes award-winning, anti-aging, vegan skin care with Squalane. They use their website to convert customers to their beloved products by diving deeper about the effectiveness of their star ingredient.
On their product detail page, they lead with a description of the product benefits, and reviews above the fold. To indicate that a product is a best seller they include a badge on both the product detail card and the product detail page.
In the product details accordion of the product detail page, Biossance features the icons for certifications in addition to their impressive clinical results. Biossance’s clinical results boast that a majority of their customers saw improvements within a single night of using their product, specifically from their retinol serum.
In their reviews section, Biossance features the aggregate reviews rating, a break down with jump links to the different reviews ratings, User Generated Content (UGC), a reviews specific search, and filters.
On the bottom of Biossance’s product detail page, they highlight their sustainability promise, including their renewable resources, planet-first process, forest stewardship council certification, vegan and non toxic formulas, and compostable packaging.
Knowing that Squalane is Biossance’s key ingredient that powers all of their products, they use a storytelling landing page to celebrate how effective this is. The page outlines what is Squalane, how it hydrates skin, how it works on different skin types, and how sugarcane is processed into squalane.
Similar to their product detail page, they also use the squalane page to reinforce their commitment to the environment with their section about how their products save sharks.
The page educates customers that in the past sharks were killed for similar products becuase the ingredient found in their liver is similar to Squalane. Biossance partners with Oceana, who also helps keeps their seas abundant and safe.
